Malabarista - now with added pony

Busy babyproofing the flat smiley - somersault - for a canine baby. That means hiding all the shoes.

We're picking up our puppy tomorrow, they're bringing her down from Hungary. My mother will be taking her back to the ol' home farm, but I get to see her first! smiley - winkeyesmiley - loveblush

She's a rescue dog - they took her and her sister off some homeless drunks who traded the puppies for a bottle of booze. Probably about 3/4 German Shepherd with who knows what else smiley - laugh

It'll be good to have a dog again! smiley - boing Though we're not sure what the cats will think about it.

(The title of this journal is a reference to "Der Findefuchs", one of my favourite books when I was little - about a vixen who finds an abandoned fox cub.)

Oh we have that book, it makes #2 smiley - cry

That is one cute puppy. Which is high praise indeed from me - I really don't like dogs.

smiley - biggrin None of us is really a dog person, but we found that we miss having one.

If only to keep the cats safe from next door's stupid terrier, and to give us a reason to go out for long walks. smiley - winkeye

She's Corvi vom Distelfeld now, but I doubt she'll ever entirely lose the name "Pömpi" smiley - winkeye

Ok, we have a dog... smiley - biggrin

Of sorts. She's much smaller and more delicate than we expected - no way she's 3/4 Shepherd. At the moment, she's hardly bigger than the cat, about 35 cm at the shoulder. smiley - laugh

But sweet and attentive.

Well, we could see that she is a wee thing by seeing he with that tennis ball.

The Gruesomes are convinced she will be living with you! I have to break the news gently.

Who was that masked dog we saw?

Her facial markings look like a highwayman mask. She has a really pretty face too. I could almost want one like that!

Well, she's keeping everyone on their toes. smiley - laugh

I just got an update - the cats seem to be fine with her, even - or, rather, *especially* the really shy one! And she's already doing her duty, tried to eat a Dachshund smiley - winkeye

We still have no idea how big she'll be or what all is mixed in there. They said they don't like the word "mutt" so what we'd be getting is a "designer dog"...

We've been telling the grannies she's a purebred Pömpi, very rare Hungarian breed smiley - winkeye Some of them will try to look knowledgeable and say "Yes, I've heard of those! Very rare..." smiley - rofl

You've got to love her for trying to eat the Dachshund.

And smiley - laugh @ the grannies.

It'll be fun to watch her grow and see what she turns out like. She does look like a German Shepherd though, by and large.

(That reminds me of my Granny, by the way. She was always trying to appear knowledgeable like that. Like the time she said with great authority that The Deer Hunter was better when she saw it in black and white in the 1940s. smiley - rofl)
