Here's the Techie's first installation in Views on Life. Each time I write one of these, I'm hoping to talk about something new each time, just so you get a new view every installation. Basically, I'm just going to rant about various things that might bug me or whatever, but in doing so I guarantee you'll learn a lot about me. And so will I.
Today's View: Commital
A lot of people commit to a lot of things, all the time. Marriage is a hell of a commital. Catholic Confirmations. Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. The whole deal. They're all commitments, saying that "Yes, I'm going to be dedicated to my wife, husband, or faith." These are all major commitments. Think about marriage. You're saying that for the rest of your life, you'll be there for that person, in any way, shape or form. That's a big commitment. Same with Confirmation and Bar Mitzvah. Even moreso, when you think about it. You're saying here that you will always be commited to your God. He comes before everything, and is the guiding light behind every single one of your decisions. Wow. The scary thing? Nobody really ever take Confirmation seriously. Bar Mitzvah's always a big deal, because the kids have to train mentally for that for years. Years! Years is a long time. Those kids take their faith really seriously, but Catholicism and Christianity in general

Hi and welcome!
I just bop around and check out the newbies occasionally, see what they have to say about themselves.
Think you have missed one of the important aspects of commitment--as in being committed to a mental institution, either voluntarily or otherwise. Maybe as a confirmed psychotic...Not sure why that popped into my warped mind....
Anyway, have fun getting to know the gang, and yourself too. You will probably accumulate an ACE or Guardian Angel along the way, I'm just an unofficial welcoming committee.

-chuckles- Thanks.
I actually had a lot more planned to write. I'm not even Christian, to begin with. Too bad there's no edit function for the Journals eh?

Just be a little cautious when typing after your 3rd cocktail--had a moment of sheer terror when I woke up one morning after a night of darts and drinking and came home to bop around this place. Wasn't sure exactly what I'd spewed, and my monitor died so I couldn't do any damage control. Fortunately, no harm done...

If you really want to look at my drunken ramblings, they are in the "Mother of God, eh?" conversation on my page. Also decided to pop in on several newcomers and dazzle them with my sparkling wit?? that night. They haven't replied....hope I didn't offend them...or scare them off...
