*gets breath back for a few minutes in the departures lounge*

Waiting for the Jersey -> Plymouth flight. The first proper bit of waiting around that I've done since 6:30am Monday morning, when I was waiting for the Exeter -> Jersey flight.

Since then it's been non-stop work, not enough sleep and not enough to eat. 60+ hours last time I checked. (Is this what junior doctors feel like?).

Usually go home on Friday night. I'm going home now (Sunday midday), to see the missus and nippers for a few hours, grab a few hours sleep, then fly straight back out, to do 1 and a half hours work (!) Monday morning, then fly straight back home to see youngest nipper in the school nativity play, then sleeping for a few more hours then flying back out again to do some more work.

See you in the departures lounge next Friday night then. smiley - run

What is it that I do?

What I do is work in IT. Nothing clever there then. It's what I'm _doing_ and how I do it that are the key to the rushing about... I'm currently implementing a project that needs some weekend work (and generally a lot of hours). However, I work for myself, so I live somewhere I like very much (hoorah for Devon) but more often than not I work away from home. Combine these two things and the result is a lot of getting on and off of planes.

Do I sit back and smell the roses?

Sit back? No. Smell the roses? Yes, if you count seeing the nippers' school Christmas play as a roses smelling type activity.

So was seeing youngest nipper playing Mary and singing solo worth the 3 flights in 24 hours and the extra 200 quid expense? You bet!

Gotta go smiley - run

smiley - run It's not always like this, just the last couple of weeks has been madness. In fact, things are starting to slow down - well, I've managed 2 hootoo postings in 2 days, so clearly I've got a couple of spare minutes this week.

Just incase I don't get back here soon though, happy Christmas to all.
