We'll be fine.
It's nice to have got to know some people better.
Magwitch and Taff...well he's on his week off.
I used that subject heading because when I first got very mentally ill that was the phrase I got obsessed with...and wouldn't stop saying..but that's a whole other story.
I can't believe what this whole thing has been like.
But we're a COMMUNITY..so it's not surprising.
Birds are singing.

My son, who is really cool by the way, uses the phrase 'All is Well' when I need reassuring. So, I sometimes say it to myself as a sort of calming mantra.
Hey, did you stay up again all night? I'm finding it hard to sleep with all the goings on around here on top of the shortage of darkness. I always suffer with insomnia a bit and the daylight isn't helping me to get the sleep I need.

wow... The response from everyone in the wider community, on the announcement[s] going live has just been amazing... Blimey... what with William and my hormones already being a bit wild... its so emotionally charged, just seeing what a real community we actually are on here... despite all the petty bickering which occassionally seems to come more to the fore... wow... This is going to be so amazing!

I suddenly realise I'm completely confused about what's happening.
Yes h2g2 is saved..and we are now under new ownership. I find that concept in itself quite disturbing. Of course I'm pleased but it takes a while to 'take things in'.
It takes me longer than others to do with massive things like this.
And people might say...well you only need to ask. But i don't have a clue what to ask about or to who.
This whole thing has been enormous for me..and stirred up a lot of things to do with the past.

Everything's not OK.
Where the hell are kea and Taff?
And yeah it really is difficult sometimes not being able to swear here. It stops you saying what you really feel.
I'm still not hardly eating or sleeping.
And some stupid fantasy land about my 2012 tickets suddenly seems a bit pathetic.

It is confusing - but we have two new *partners alongside the h2g2c2 consortium. Robbie Stamp is one of them - he is actually researcher no 5!! The other partner is the company noesis.
I have been tremendously privileged to have spoken with Robbie Stamp and he is a genuinely cool guy with a deep love for this place.
At the moment there is a plan to get everything sorted out, and eventually we will have h2g2 working just as it always should have done. It will look the same as ever, not a bit like the site that KB linked to. We are going to have the h2g2 site running on their (noesis) servers, completely separate from their other products.
We're not going to be kicked out of the BBC until the systems exist to make sure that no-one is left behind. It's a case of being brave and trusting the ones on the committee who understand the technology. I don't understand any of that stuff, but I know that they do.
Although I've had nothing to do with planning any of this, I've been lucky to have been asked by the Consortium, to step into a role as as Interim Guide Editor, along with Gnomon, Dmitri and Jordan. So I have been given a little of the information and it is all very well planned.
There will be step by step guidance to make sure that everyone understands what is going on, but just today things are still being worked on. It's going to be a while before anything changes.
I just wanted to reassure you, as I know how hard all this change and uncertainty is for you.
Does this help?
and having those tickets is really cool

Magwitch - My name is Mags and I am funky. Posted Jun 22, 2011
We *will* be fine. It *will* be ok.
Sure, we'll be on our own, but we are anyway. (If a community of over 200 active researchers could be considered on it's own.) Yeah, it's a bit scary but it's a good scary. We'll get to set most of the rules ourselves and we won't necessarily have some of the restraints that are currently here at the BBC when we do move.
If all else fails we could lurk in the dark corners of The Archers board*
We're here if you need us.
*I'm not advocating that, I just remember Jezza's Exiles being here before they set up themselves.

It's going to take me sometime to adjust because the whole concept of buying and selling a community of people is wrong IMO. Yes I know that's how it works.
And Robbie Stamp sounds like a made up name.
But yes essentially all of this stuff to do with h2g2 is a reminder of past problems.
I honestly don't know how I'll cope here without Taff being around so much.
A community of people shouldn't be a thing to be bought and sold. That's a hell of a thing to come to terms with for me.
But that's the way the world now works.

Yay and whoohoo. (Lanza)
Thank you for your earlier post. I was too incredibly upset at that point to read it properly.
But it's very re-assuring.
I'm very badly affected by this stuff...but I know it's to do with my own problems from the past as much as contemporary BBC/noohootoo
But thank you for posting really clearly about it.

You're more than welcome! Now we just have to sit tight and wait for the techies to do their magic stuff.
