h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I got up at 7 this morning (and they call it the holidays)
to catch a train
to travel for 3 1/2 hours
later that day, I took my bike
to cycle to uni
and these ten minutes were the only rainy ten minutes of the day (or so it seems)
when I arrived
I found out
that the appointment
(the only reason I came)
had been cancelled.

why me?

Hey, I love this kind of sh!t... Seems to happen all the time, doesn't it? It's either your appointment is cancelled, or else something else happens. Just the other day something like that happened to me, too. I came from my parents' town back to Berlin for the sole purpose of getting a signature from a prof, only to find that on the day of his office hours, I was too sick to even move out of bed. So next day, feeling slightly better, I returned to the tender care of my mother, without the signature, I might add.

So maybe it's not just you. In what wonderful town and university do you study?

Currently - Rostock. I'm trying to get to Berlin, though. Which means I have to finish all my semester papers (or whatever you'd call that) by next week. Consequently I panicked but I still prefer hanging around here. Making a mess of my personal space as I didn't expect anyone to look at it.

Can't see why you would leave Rostock to come to Berlin. But then again, I only ever see Rostock as a visitor, not as a student. And just for a weekend. How many papers do you have to finish in the next week? Looks like a fun project... My personal record was something like 7 "Scheine" in one semester and trust me, I don't ever want to do that again

Which Uni are you trying to get in?

I'm trying both unis - hoping at least one of them will accept me. The reason I'm leaving isn't Rostock itself, which is a wonderful town. I'm going to miss the sea!
I'm just not happy with a certain department at uni, I'm not going into detail here...
One paper I have already handed in, two more will follow. Haven't counted the number of "Scheine" this semester - - something around 5-ish.

There's some stuff I could add:
I've been living in Berlin before, and I left with the intention of coming back. It's actually just little things that I'm missing up there, or little things that p*ss me off, but all in all it's enough.

Tell me about it... My best friend lives in HRO, so one time I visited I was surprizsed they threw us out of the bar at 2am - their closing time. Ain't no such thing in Berlin, that's for sure
