Close Encounters and Wine!

Well an interesting trip down to London this weekend saw me zooming past a fellow researcher on the A3 on Friday, involving much flashing of headlights and frantic waving smiley - smiley Which was reciprocated in full,
much to the shock and surprise of the other motorists on the road.
They must have thought we were mad!
Saturday saw me spend about 5 hours here: http://www.vinopolis.co.uk
very interesting, and very informative. if you have ever wanted to know more about wine, and ever get to London and have a few hours to kill, try it out and let me know what you think. smiley - smiley
There might be an article in this.
Hands off! It's mine right? smiley - tongueout

Be careful who you flash at!
Choose the music for this thread. Do you want the 5 notes from "Close Encounters", the wibbly bit from the "Outer Limits" or the theme from the "X files"?

ooh, ooh, ooh!

I went to Vinopolis a week ago last Wed, ummm, musta been July 5th. My hubby & I were on our anniversary trip and, being a couple of lushes, decided an afternoon would be well spent there.

Remembering the most important H2G2 rule... no spitting, we swallowed. We even bought extra tickets.

So, here's me, flashing my headlights and waving franctically! smiley - smiley

Hi Witty, thanks for dropping by my old place smiley - smiley
Did you enjoy it? We had a great time. Would definately go back again. My London friends decided to upgrade their tickets to the years entry. Good value if you live down there. smiley - smiley

We had a great time. Would have gone for the annual pass myself, 'cept I live in New Jersey.

I wonder what they do with all the partially consumed bottles of wine at closing time?

But's it's certainly a concept that lends itself to franchising. Maybe I could open the East Coast branch. (Nah, I'd be looped every nite, drinking up the days leftovers.)

I think you will find, that they generally only open enough to be consumed during the day. I wouldn't want to go towards the end as i doubt there would be much left to sample! smiley - smiley
