As we have already mentioned on Noesis, we have explored an alternative to our current forums. Pastey has found Trello, which seems to be a really good option. It is certainly a lot more tidy than Noesis and lets us find things more easily. We would now like to get all Artists to Trello to see if it really works as good as we think it does.
To be able to invite you to Trello we need your email address, so please write us an email to: artists at h2g2 dot com

We will not hand your email address to anyone else, don't worry.
You also don't have to register on Trello with your real name, your h2g2 name is just fine.

We also would like to invite you to join us on skype. This is absolutely voluntarily, if you don't like skype or instant messengers in general you don't have to come, but we'd be happy to have you there. Other volunteers are on skype, too and we'd have a separate artists chat. If you like to join us just send us your skype name when you write the email for Trello.

We hope to get all your addresses soon. smiley - smiley

I'd like to reinforce this, we've been prodding Trello for a short while and it seems to be absolutely ideal for what we need. The forums at Noesis were exactly what we needed at the time, a safe haven to get stuff done while we were settling in, but this new system allows us to really get to grips with the whole "wider picture" stuff.

It doesn't even need a main email address either, you can easily create a throw away one just to use with this, but we really do need to start getting a good, smooth flow through of artwork. As I say, we've prodded Trello a little and it's far surpassed our expectations. I really hope it continues to do so.

So, for all of you who are on Trello already here is a bit of explaination how it works:

These boxes with the Entry titles that you see are basically all threads. You can click on them and a window opens in which you can comment and upload pictures (button at the right side of the window).

We have all threads devided into different collumns so everyone can see immediately which pictures have not been picked by an artist yet, which ones have and which ones are finished. We can move the threads between the different columns when the pictures move on in the process.

Additionally there are these bars with different colors at every thread to indicate how urgent it is that a picture gets done (red is of course top priority) depending on where the Entry currently is in the publishing process.

If an Artist agrees to make a picture we can also move their avatar on the thread so everyone sees who works on which picture. I'm not sure if you can move your avatar yourself, if you can do it feel free to do so if you want to make a picture.

I hope this answers all questions, but if there are any questions remaining don't hesitate to ask.smiley - smiley
