It's interesting and ecclectic and quirky. It is called Atlas Obscura.
Here is today's issue:

The Psychiatry and Cats article is really . A Victorian artist named Louis Wain was a very popular illustrator of the time. Later in his life he seemed to suffer from some sort of mental illness and his shrink collected his strange pictures of cats and used them to 'teach' students about the stages of mental illness.
This fits right in with all the discussions of cats and ferns wearing galoshes going on currently in various threads.

You have a great day Galaxy Babe. Don't run into any gorillas or nuts in gorilla suits like poor Tim Peake!

Thanks very much Elektra, I enjoyed that! I knew of these weird psychedelic stylized cats ... but didn't know the full story!

Sort of interesting effect there before LSD came along, although I suppose he could have gotten ergotism from bad bread.

That is an interesting website indeed - I found it when I was sub-editing one of Dmitri's Entries
Very like h2g2 in a way, but also quite different - the Entries sound like the sorts of things h2g2ers would be interested in, but they have an office in New York and paid editors whereas h2g2 has people meeting up via the internet from all over the world!
I'm glad to be able to participate in h2g2 even though I'm not in the same city as most other Researchers although I wouldn't have objected if I could have made h2g2 Editor into a career rather than a voluntary opportunity when I was unemployed... No matter for me, though, as now I have a job, h2g2 still keeps me learning other topics and skills
Key: Complain about this post
