Why is a woman assaulted or beaten every nine seconds in the United States of America. This is really shocking and horrible as most Americans believe they live in a developed country.

Sir Patrick Stewart, of 'X-Men' and 'Star Trek:The Next Generation' fame suffered from growing up with a father who couldn't control his anger or fists.

The Branson charity in South Africa discovered how widespread rape was in the remote location in rural South Africa.

When rape survivor, Zerlina Maxwell went on a faux TV show and had the nerve to say that men needed to be educated not to be sexually aggressive, she received many rape threats through social media.

How are boys raised to be capable of this? Every time a boy is told don't cry, you throw like a girl, hit bullies back so they stop, or they are physically punished for their mistakes they are learning wrong --dangerous lessons.

What do you guys think can be done? Are you willing to take the pledge?

Thanks to Willem, who responded to this in his journal with the strange situation in South Africa.

Today there was this:

Whereas women can't prevent rape by arming themselves, this article suggests that more people could be encouraged to stop situational date rape by blowing the whistle when it is happening. By showing civil courage as it were. Because the rapists themselves are exceeding resistant to changing their predatory behaviour it seems that education might help prevent victimization.

Hi Elektrasmiley - hug
I admire your stance and your courage and your will to want to do something about these terrible crimes. I have lived through some tough times and seen some dreadful things but it usually leads to something good happening, some light at the end of the tunnel. I can think of A23296584 immediately. Thanks GB, you have enough on your plate with you and your mum's health issues. I don't know your situation well enough to say how you could help with this problem but I think it's one of those things that human consciousness has to deal with and each individual needs to be mindful of it, to be aware enough to act to keep it from happening in your presence.
