After some 20 + years I'm not in Wales for Easter

And it definitely feels odd.No car trip up the M4 and across the Severn Bridge.No beaming Ma-inlaw to greet us.No catch up on the local changes,no catch up with the local gossip.
Instead I get to sleep in my own bed and find out what's going on locally and set up some new Easter traditions.
I think I'm going to miss the Welsh scenery though.
So eating Hot Cross Buns at home and remembering Nell.
Sadly though I have to cook Easter Sunday lunch this year..Something I have not missed.

It's always these anniversaries & special days that summon memories, isn't it.
Like you say, there's the need to make new traditions. I find that's happening for all sorts of reasons. My Mum used to invite us over for Easter Sunday lunch, but she's got past being able to do that now. So we take her out or bring her to our house instead.
