Hiya sweetheart. The damson gin is at the back of a cupboard that I don't go in very often, pretending that it does not exist. It's not going to get filtered off the damsons until Christmas Eve, and that way it should last through until New Year.
I've got two 40 pint barrels of beer settling which ARE NOT GOING TO BE TOUCHED until my birthday mid-December. The 48 bottles of beer wot I prepared earlier have somehow whittled themselves down to about 25. Naughty beer bottles. But I think we might just about be prepared. There's only the little matter of buying presents/sending cards left.
Other than that, not much happening. For some reason over the last few months I've been inspired to re-read some Classics that I last read over 30 years ago. I've done Tristram Shandy, Ulysses and Anna Karenina, and I'm now just about half way through War and Peace. I've enjoyed them all, but don't feel as blown away as I did as a teenager. Age and cynicism seems to dull our sense of wonder, which is a shame I think.
How's about yourself?

I won't ask about the Damson Gin again then, wouldn't do to keep reminding you it is there I hope you gave thoses naughty beer bottles a good ticking off!
I am up and down but making progress, sometimes that is unbearable slow other times like yesterday I make a couple of leaps forward with things and go on enormous high I have come back down from the ceiling today and not with a girt crash, I feel good and that I am going to enjoy.
We have Christmas sussed, the kids want money, Spiller's family like presents so we do that online with Hawkins Bazaar as a job lot. We hate consumerism so most of the adults don't but anything for each other. I get something for me Ma and step Dad and job done, I quite enjoy picking up little nick-nacks for Hiccup.
Niether do we enjoy long winded family gatherings so if Mum and step Dad aren't up at my sisters they come round for a couple of hours nibbles and cocktails and we send them home very jolly, they sleep it off in the afternoon and enjoy Strictly and that
Highlight for us is Dr Who. This year we are cooking something special, Rudolph as it happens, slow cooked reindeer casserole I think with jacket potatos and peas
Last year we surpassed ourselves for can't be assed with cooking even and brought plenty of Chinese from out local take out on Christmas Eve to last a couple of days
I think it is a shame when that sense of wonder isn't the same but Dr Who still does it for me, maybe not so much the sense of wonder but the anticipation of the build up although it is hell avoiding spoilers, getting all excited and snuggling on the sofa with big grins on our faces and holding hands
Sorry, rabbit, rabbit, rabbit
