Traffic, Don't Talk To Me About Traffic

It took me half an hour to get to the other side of Stockport this afternoon for an appointment with the going anti-clockwise around the Great Northern Car Park (formerly known as the M60). Why oh why did it then take me one and a half hours to get home?
On a lighter note, Pa's had his second hip replacement done today. They used a spinal block due to him having COPD and he's very pleased with the proceedure apart from almost falling off the operation table laughing at the jokes & banter.
He's now decided that if he does have to eventually have his prostrate removed he wants it done using the same form of anaesthesia Having attended his out-patients appointments with the very nice lady who looks after him for this I think they may have to provide cot sides for the table

Glad to hear he's in good spirits!
I had to have my knee done with epidural anaesthetic; i was terrified, but it was absolutely fine, wouldn't hesitate to have same type again.
Seems a better option than a general anaesthetic if there are any lung problems.
As to the traffic; well, the oil is going to run out sooner rather than later, which will mean more w**k for my partner (Sustainable Energy consultant), but he maybe won't be able to get tgere to inspect the systems?
<Better invest in donkey & cart is my advice!!!!>

Well I did look at the train but that would have involved 4 changes and taken three and a half hours and a very long walk that I'm not quite up to yet

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Dec 17, 2009
Ah, how I miss those days spent listening to the radio and admiring the scenery from standstill traffic on the M25, the North Circular, the Westway. Imagine the joy in my heart each time I passed the Paddington slip and saw the wonderful display of red brake lights before me at the Northern Roundabout, stretching into the distance all the way to Hanger Lane. It made me feel so festive at this time of the year. And crawling along the Marylebone Road at 4mph afforded such an opportunity to study the varied architecture of the buildings on either side of the road - The British Library, St Pancras, Euston Tower, Portland Road tube station.
Happy days

so much better than the Stockport Glass Pyramid and the monstrosity that is the Trafford Centre, but at least we've got the Bridge over the Ship Canal

Sort of, last time I crossed it in daylight there were no gondolas floating leisurely down towards the Mersey - plenty of other unmentionables - but no gondolas.
