Can anyone explain just why hospitals book you in for 07:00? It's not as if the s start in theatres until 09:00 . I'll have to up up for 05:00 at the latest so I can have a 'light breakfast' . Still it'll give me something to do when I have to lie flat on my back for 4 - 6 hours .
After that I'll be allowed to sit up for 2 hours and then if I'm a very good girl and my blood sugars are good I'll be allowed home I can't take my diabetes medication tomorrow or for the following 48 hours, just what do they expect?
Hope I'm back tomorrow.

Well, the old NHS was running to schedule, I got to the hospital at 06:50, was shown into the waiting area. It's got one of those televisions high up on the wall, the special public area issue that don't come with a remote control.
This one was stuck on BBC1 so we had the news for a while then Breakfast TV, then Helicopter Heros, then Try Before You Buy, then Homes Under the Hammer, then Cash in the Attic, then... you get my meaning?
At 12:30, slap bang in the middle of the only programme worth watching, Bargain Hunt with dear old Tim, I was called.
I was wheeled down to Radiology parked up outside the theatre and waited again, thank bob this area didn't have a tele.
When I finally got in there at least the Radiology Consultant did apologise, they'd had two emergencies in, one after the other!
Got sorted on the table, swabbed up and a local anaestheic injected (the very worst part for a big baby like me) then lo and behold a screen was pushed into place above me
Absolutely fabulous to see your own body working away! After about an hour it got rather surreal, lying there naked from the waist down with a you'd only just met making polite conversation whilst he was pressing down hard with both hands onto your groin
Back to the ward with the one thing I hadn't had for ages... a warm foot and instructions to lie still, flat on my back for 4 hours. As I'd not slept Tuesday night that wasn't going to be too hard and I spent the time dozing with Ozzy, Metallica, Queen, Magnum and Jon Lord's Durham Concerto.
After another sleepless night, (Jasper Carrot may always have got the nutter on the bus, but I always get the confused little old lady in the next bed) I was finally allowed home at 13:00.
Now I'm walking around like a line-dancing crab, with two warm feet, not in any pain, but awefully stiff!

Good job the same thing doesn't happen to me bearing in mind the area they were working in
BTW, had one of my usual senior, blonde moments as I left the ward yesterday, I was in such a hurry I forgot to take my medications with me (the ones I'd taken in with me) and so had to go back for them today.
The walk that had previously been a 3 sit down one I managed in 1 ain't it nice when a plan comes together
