It's taken a year, but we've finally found a lovely place to scatter Mom's ashes. It's a woodland burial ground just south of Redditch with views as far as the Brecon Beacons.
It's taken so long because Mom didn't leave any instruction other than 'Just find a nice place and do it.' This left Pa, my brother and me in a bit of a quandary. There are so many places that we've visited and have great memories of, some of them from when bro and I were young, when our dad was alive, before Mom met Pa, and since.
We finally decided to go for an area Mom knew before any of us knew her and then found this place in the middle of the area.
It's somewhere she used to visit as a young teenager when the 'in' place to meet was the local cycling club. Mom could never master the art of riding a bike and couldn't see well enough to anyway, so she went out with a local lad who owned a tandem! She went out with him until she was old enough to go dancing and then dropped him.

good call tinker! my mum left a list and it took me about 2 years of scattering her, in all the places on her list, the pub/bar at the back of the Customs house in Oban was one of the nicest and brought back so many memorys of her being very "artist and interesting" while missing the ferry also a train station @ Blue anchour near minehead, eating a bacon sandwage on a cold Febuary morning, cursing the cold weather for giving her cold feet!

your mom sounds just like mine Jack. If we had decided to scatter her every place there were good memories, the grandkids kids would have still been doing it I'm just relieved to have found a place we all agree on and that we know she enjoyed.
