it's past midnight. i'm awake. i haven't stayed up this late in months. years even. i am babysitting. i want to go to bed. i have been awake for the last 17 hours and I AM REALLY TIRED AND CRANKY about this whole virtual prez thing.
all i meant to do was stir things up a bit. i didn't expect the hostile response that i got from Amy the Ant. She practically made it her sworn duty to smear me, my campaign employers, and anyone even remotely connected to me. and i don't like how this is turning out. why are we all attacking and accusing each other? was this REALLY the point of the kidnapping? no! was this the point of the prez race? no!
let's put it this way: it started out as all in good fun. everything i've done has started out this way. the kidnapping idea was bred from boredom. there was nothing else that was even remotely interesting. so i created an alias and kidnapped the celery. i thought it would make things a little more interesting around here.
boy, was i wrong. i shook things up, all right, but not in the way i had hoped.
in short, i'm not having fun anymore. and i know there are other people who aren't having fun anymore either. Like Demon Drawer, who is considering giving up the race and H2G2 alltogether. so i'm releasing the celery, giving up my attempts to frame Amy the Ant, and i'm taking a LONG rest from H2G2 because you people aren't much fun anymore. i'm tired of being attacked. and i'm sick to death of this stupid prez race. so have fun, researchers. have fun without me.

Please, rethink your resignation threat. I believe a lot of people became a little annoyed about people playing with the candidates instead of introducing new fun issues. The little tale posted below may explain what I am, no doubt badly, trying to say.
FIGHT MAKES RIGHT
Mike Tyson went to Scotland recently and destroyed Lou Savarese in 38
seconds, or as Tyson would say, "I went to Thcotland Thunday and
dethtroyed Thavarese in like thirty-eight theconds ... not guilty."
The crowd of 20,000 fans had barely stopped cheering Tyson following his introduction when they began booing the fight's quick end, then cheering that they'd be home early, before booing their upcoming manic depression meeting.
Tyson knocked down Savarese with a left hook about 12 seconds into the
fight, or roughly the amount of time it takes a person to read the phrase, "We find the defendant, Mike Tyson, guilty of all charges."
Savarese struggled up at 5 seconds and Tyson was on him like a cat -- a cat shaped like a powerfully built man named Mike Tyson.
For the fight, Tyson earned $8 million ... so he can finally get his voice box replaced with that of a man.
Tyson, always known for his way with words, said after the match, "I am the most ruthless, brutal champion ever. I am Sonny Liston and Jack
Dempsey." He added, "I am ready for my afternoon tea. I am going to drink it on the veranda."
Iron Mike, as he is called by those who admire his wrinkle-free wardrobe, challenged Lenox Lewis, saying, "I want to rip out his heart and feed it to him." Words which suggest Tyson has gotten a new speech writer since uttering this famous line: "I want to lose to Evander Holyfield and bite a little bit of his ear off in frustration."
Take care, Loony

*sighs*
Another one....
What is it with this site right now? It's all becoming a little bit too intense and serious
After all, it's not RL, it's just a bit of fun and escapism.

Sea, please dont leave, this just turned out badly because Amy got so manaical about it all. We need you here, with us. Just because your nafarious plan failed it doesn't mean that you should give up. Think of all of the TV villains that just kept trying, they should be your role models, but just learn from your past mistakes and make your next plot foolproof.
If you do decide to go We'll all miss you

Hi Sea, don't leave...
Hope you're not too upset about Amy's tactics - she was just playing along and I'm sure she didn't mean any harm. I've avoided getting too involved in the whole role-playing part myself because I think it tends to fuel arguments and competitiveness. Remember what h2g2 is about - humour, research and community - if you don't find any of this in one part of h2g2, it's sure to be found somewhere else.

I've been looking at the relevant forums and pages. If I may say so, as far as I can see you have been accusing Amy as much as she has accused you. If you try to frame her, I would fully expect her to respond aggressively. (she is a member of the second most warlike species on Earth, anyway )

Sea
Go and have a kip, then come back, you'll feel better after it
So you tried to pull off a major stunt and it back fired?
Well SO WHAT!
Put it down to experience, the next stunt you pull will work or at least it will take the rest of us a lot longer to catch you
It was quite a neat idea.
The only thing you managed to do wrong was to leave a trail of evidence which pointed directly to you
Otherwise you could have had people running around for days
As for people getting annoyed, I think you'll find most of them are good actors, just look at the number of role playing threads around this site.
and if there are any that are genuinly upset, thats their problem, as all's fair in love, war and h2g2 elections (just don't let it spill over into the semi-serious bits of h2g2).

[Y2K] Darth Solent, do not do this. Taking something SERIOUSLY is against the principle of the H2G2!
[Y3K] Also, you're his apprentice.
[Y4K] Yeah. You need to obey him.
[Y2K] You aren't helping...

Well I don't want you to leave. Or if you do, you better come back.
I thought it was very interesting that someone kidnapped the Celery. I kind of wish it could have lasted longer, that is, if no one got hurt.

I agree, It was a brilliant plan, and it was enjoyable for the most part. If you choose to go, us on the Masque team will miss you in our campaign as well

[Y2K] I wonder what will happen when Sea comes back and finds all these responses saying not to leave.
[Y3K] She'll leave anyway.
[Y4K] She'll stay.
[Y3K and Y4K] You'll see.

much as i hate to say this... Y4K is right. i'm not leaving, but only because corrigible asked so nicely. but i'm going to be around a lot less in the next month or so. plotting my next stunt... but wait. you don't know that, right? good. anyways. thanks for the support, everyone, and i realize that i took a lot of this stuff too personally, but when someone is personally attacking you, you tend to take it personally. but i'll try not to do that the next time.
and i won't make the same stupid mistakes the next time, either!
