how do humans reproduce? they don't get any contact with each other in the real world, only in the matrix, where they only *think* they're making babies, how do the machines keep a constant supply of humans?

yeah, that could work, i guess...they don't tell us though, as far as i'm aware...
oh, and another thing - a lot of people say "the scenario represented in these films could be our future", well, it could equally be our now...

well, who's to say we're not currently living ni the matrix, and the real world is out there being controlled by machines?
obviously it's been thought about, but the majoirty of people seem to want to think of it as a warning for the future as opposed to an insight into what's happening now...
i wonder which of those the wachowskis were thinking of when they made it...

no, i just don't see why people assume this is the potential future being portrayed...i think i've always thought of it as being now...
as in we're in the matrix, right now

"Humans are no longer born, they are grown."
If the machines have the tech to build machines which act as life-support and entertainment all in one, then might they not also have the tech to have other machines to build them from scratch, taking cells from those captive in the real world?
By the same token as they only thing they are experiencing family in the matrix, as long as they are plugged in, they have no idea what's happening to their bodies in the real world. You saw those tubes, they went everywhere!
