h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I started my HNC in Computing at Whitwood College, Castleford, yesterday. The first day was induction - getting to know the college layout and the tutors, and not much work...

But from next Monday it will be 9am-8pm, and intensive and concentrated work work work - 11 hours of being weighted down with work to complete during the rest of the week.

Apparently it used to be a 2 year course, but has been squashed down into one - the tutor said that a third of the students wash out in the first three months. I guess I have to make sure that I'm not one of them...

I hope skool is going well. I have just completed my first week - brain overload. After the induction everything else must be a doddle, I now have three years to process all the information I was given this week.

Call me a conspiracy theorist if you will but something strange is going on all over this country. All the nursing students on my course were given heaf tests and as a result we all have matching marks on our lower left arms - easy for identification?! These marks are very itchy and I'm afraid to go in to a supermarket for fear of accidentaly swiping my arm through the bar code reader...it's food for thought.

SKOOL is going fine, thank you... apart from a coma inducing, three hour lecture on Systems Analysis this week was fine...

I still havent done all my work that I need by Monday, I guess today will include a rather homework intensive "long dark teatime of the soul"

Sounds grim. I have been researching for an essay on the need for cultural awareness within the NHS.

My IT skills are rusty, I can word process and surf the net but little else. I have started a nursing course only to find out that I am to have IT classes - I think h2g2 will come in very useful as I will be screaming "HELP"!
