Today I have filled out the portion for personal introduction. I am apprehensive. I wish to be accepted. If I am not that is O.K.
To be in the company of others in flesh or in heart is good. I struggle to express myself and am trying to be attentive to how I show my face to others. I do not hide my face, I do not reveal my face all at once. This is modesty. I am excited but I am nervouse too. I will now stop writing because I have no more that I wish to say tonight. I must attend to my animals.

Hallo johnredbear
Welcome to H2
It can be quite scary joining in with forums - I've been a member of H2 on and off for 6 years and I am still a little wary of joining in with some of the debates, mainly because I do find it difficult to argue and debate methodically.
But its fun to read and to learn which is why I stick around, contributing occasionally, and the nice thing about this place is that most of the people are friendly.
I smiled when I read your entry about how the body grows less supple and more painful as we grow older; I too go thru the same sort of routine as you do first thing every morning. And I too, never thought my body would become old far sooner than my mind.
I won't invade your space unless I am invited, but I thought it'd be a nice thing to do to drop by and say "hi" to you.

Yes, hello and welcome! You've made a great start by writing about yourself and starting a thread in Ask.
People won't find your journals easily until you've been here for a while and they go looking for them - but don't worry, two of us, at least, have already come looking.
You're also welcome to stop by any Researcher's personal space (just click on their name) and leave a message there. We have people from all continents and a broad range of ages, so I'm sure you'll find some people you have things in common with - and some that are totally different, but interesting anyway.

How very nice to hear from you with such a warm welcome. You may feel free to 'invade' my space ant time. I suppose since you are welcome it will no longer be an invasion. As I learn more how to make my way in the forums I will be much better at it. I feel like in new territory and don't know yet what the landscape is. It seems to be a good place so far. I was very happy to get so much insight from others to my question.

Hootoo can be pretty difficult to navigate even for those of us who have been around for a while. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it soon, though - and if you have specific questions, you can ask any of us, or just answer your ACE (I see it's Feisor, who's left a message for you. )

johnredbear,
I was checking through your journals to see how long you had been here and realise you are very much a 'newbie' as we call them. It will take a while to feel comfortable with h2g2, or hootoo as some call it, but you have made a wonderful start, and your writing is fascinating. You give us an insight to a world that we had almost forgotten existed.
I have been here around six years, and I am still learning. I have made some good friends too. Some I have met, some I talk to by email, and others just drop in and out of my space or threads at will.
I shall look forward to chatting to you from time to time.

WEBSAILOR,I enjoy very much the time I spend with writing and reading at this place. It is all a new kind of thing these kind of relations between people and I am sometimes not sure how to carry my self. But the people here are all kind and I am happy to learn all I can from them.
