As the senior consultant I expect he's not had to do much of the dirty work for a few years now

I have met him several times. He seems to know what he's on about but I don't think he actually /touches/ patients very often if he can help it.

Bit like academic profs... They don't write papers if they can help it either
I've met the consultant who I'm with for the D. Just the once, he did say that they (the doctors) don';t do much but leave it up to the nurses and the patients.
How is the head at the mo?
