Cat in hospital, until the RSPCA call back I don't know if he's alive or dead. What did I think 5 minutes ago? What I though was: "Oh, that's a bit like Schrodinger's Cat!'
How the hell can I think that at a time like this?
Meanwhile my flatmate's lurching between tears and more tears.

Nah, humour is a natural defence mechanism in the face of adversity. Sometimes it seems to be sick humour (I think about all the sick jokes about the bombs recently, or any other disaster, whether natural or man-made, any of which that got posted on hootoo got jumped on straight away).
Your cat most certainly is a waveform at the moment.

. In retrospect I'm actually quite surporised that I *mananged* to think of something like that!
It looks like Harry (the cat) is doing OK, which amazes me. No obvious breaks, no sign of internal damage, just a swollen face & a nose bleed (he must have landed on his front legs & hit his face on the ground. From 7 floors. Amazing). He hasn't eaten since it happened but that's not surprising!
It's probably affected him psychologically - time will tell. Won't know until he gets out of hospital.
Here's hoping there's nothing nasty lurking inside...

He's not even my cat! When Kevin (my flatmate) brought him here he was about 6 weeks old, peering from the corner of the rucksack. I melted!
