People think too much...

...which is why they get depressed and maudlin. and self destructive. and so they tend to talk rather to much about themselves. this little rant doesnt refer to me at all, incidentally, cos im a happy child. and then they end up hating themselves for thinking too much. and they also end up hating everything and everyone around them intermittently because they dont live up to some kind of stupid ideal that they have cooked up for humanity. we are only human and we make mistakes. this is something one has to learn to live with, rather than something that should make you want to lascerate yourself and cut yourself open. concentrate on the good things. forgive. remove the log from your own eye and all that. try to be good, but remember your weekness. and always, *always* stay optimistic. everyone has downs. you have to roll with them. does this sound liek one of those self help books? dear God i think it does. oh well. anyway. look at it this way: it is a stupendously unlikely gift to be alive - that you exist at all is miraculous - both from religious *and* secular points of view. what is more remarable is that you all have computers and are affluent enough nto to have to struggle all day every day, when most of the worlds population is living in circumstances far less great than yours. Everyone is so obsessed with the stagnacy of life. they gripe about how they are dissatisfied with ntohing to do. course theres stuff to do! collect stamps? teach yourself french and read baudelaire! whatever! the only thing that gets in your way is your own crippling self image! just stop twiddling and preening and trying to be a tragically beuatiful neo-morrisey. its not big and its not clever. its as much of a waste of your youth as endless drinking. your not impressing anyone other than people who have the same attitude problem as you! this is getting a bit ranty, isnt it? its not meant to be. its just NOT AS BAD AS YOU THINK.

there is, on the trainline from Waterloo East to London Bridge, a building on the lefthand side of the tracks. on the side is written in white and blue paint 'TAKE COURAGE'

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

well, I don't know about these days, but 'Take Courage' used to be an advertising slogan for a particular brand of beer.

And as Homer Simpson once put it - "Beer. The cause of and answer to all of life's problems."
