Stereophonics................
Emily...overly fond of the ellipsis...and top ten lists...submit yours @ A87824361... Started conversation Jun 11, 2000
I've been listening to the Stereophonics albulm performance and cocktails for the last few weeks and I change my favorite song nearly everyday the problem is they seem to be geting more and more depressing, Last week it was she takes her clothes off (some one wanting to be Marilyn Monroe and commiting suicide and today it's i stopped to fill my car up ( about..........well I'm not sure but it's really depressing). Why is it the more we listen to something the more times we seem to change our minds about what we like? Is it just the way we are?

Word gets around is ever more depressing. Their Local Boy in the Photograph single is about a 23 year old who got killed on a train track. Doesn't get much more cherrful then that.
Great album though

That's the one. It's their first and only other album. Can't recommend it enough.

I think you will find the song title is 'She Takes Her Clothes Off'...
Which if you think about it, Sigmund Freud might have something to say about it being a subconscious response...

Now I know most people aren't aquainted with their subconscious, well it would make life so boring if you were in TOTAL control...
...but the mere fact that Halo's subconscious likes to idle away the wee small hours of the morning dreaming of dancing down Woolworths street, wearing nothing more than a cheesy grin...
Do tend to stick in the mind...
- Simply, High Spirited.

Ok OK I admit my spelling and punctuation is crap and my typing skills leave nothing to be desired but I learned how to use a computer and type and all that jazz all by my self! :-p

Personally, I *loved* Word Gets Around. Almost all of them are my favorite tracks. But you're right, they are *very* depressing.
But i still like 'em!

Compared to Nirvana it's a drop in the water!!
Stereophonics................
Chrome101 Posted Jul 12, 2000
True, but I was thinking in relative terms (ie. I wasn't thinking of Nirvana when I worte my last posting)
I think I might be turning into a proto-metalhead...

A WHAT!!

Chrome101 Posted Jul 24, 2000
OK, let's take this nice and slowly...
Metalhead: A person who likes metal. Could be death-metal, thrash-metal, it doesn't matter. They're most likely to be an adolescent male with personality problems (which is why I suspect myself).
Proto: Not quite the full thing yet. In formation.
You get it?

I'm not into all the really heavy stuff yet i like a real mix of stuff!
