To try and support the make poverty history white band campaign, I have added a white band to my space with a link up to their webspace. I think it would be nice to try and get as many people as possible on the site to carry something similar. In case you wish to do the same, here is the guide ml to put the band on your space.
MAKE POVERTY HISTORY;
A child dies from poverty every 3 seconds. Click here to help make it stop
If you come up with anything better please let me know, but I thought this looked satisfactory. I thought it would be nice if this could be distributed so please forward it on if you wish.
regards
Kim

You need to change the width of the table as currently it makes the screen widen.
There are many people on the site who are doing something like this, it's just a shame it's only a UK thing currently.

cheers - where are you at the mo? thought you were off to the states whish is why I hadn't bothered getting in touch.
What width to you recommend? - it displays fine on mine but the mac often doesn't display like windows.

Try 600. It just makes everything wider than the standard is all. It's not bad precisely, just a bit odd. It will do it to both macs and pcs.
I am indeed in the states. That doesn't mean I don't come online though

hmm. I tried 600 when I was designing it and it didn't fill the screen - which was the effect I wanted as I want it to be a banner across the entire screen. I think individual display settings must be part of the issue here. It doesn't widen the screen on mine but I'm viewing in goo. Don;t know if that makes any difference. Anyway, without being able to see the effect you're talking about, I shall leave it alone as it looks exactly as I want it on mine at the mo. I'll have a look at work on monday.
How's america?

aha - I've just had a look in brunel and alabastar and I see what you mean. Yes, for other than goo, it will either need to be smaller or perhaps left aligned. I will try that and generate alternative coding.

I've just looked at this on your PS. I tried to take up your invitation to 'click here to make it stop', but nothing happend.

do you have popups enabled? the link is working for me, I've checked it.

I'm finding that my cursor disappears and goes into one of those I shapes when I point at 'Click here' on the banner. I can't make the link work, and my pop-up blocker's definitely switched off.

Oh god. I wonder what I've done. It works fine on mine honest!
Can this have anything to with mac v PC I wonder? Or can it be to do with preferances? I always work in Goo but I've tried it in Brunel and while the banner does not display properly, it does still work. I've also used IE for mac to test it and it still works, so I have no idea what may be wrong.
ok, the code is as follows
MAKE POVERTY HISTORY;
A child dies from poverty every 3 seconds. Click here to help make it stop
Can anyone see a potential error in it?
Help me - I feel like such a muppet......

Still can't get it to work via KD's space but the link from Ormondroyd's space works fine.
Ahh, the mysteries of technology.
