"GRUNT" in 'Mr. O speak', means "I love you very much, but I'm afraid of doing that, so I will pretend I am a 'macho' guy and grunt at you, so I don't show my real feelings."

I am mastering the genteel grunt. With it one should convey a sense of dryness and sitting in a leather armchair, in a silk dressing gown, smoking a pipe, and being 90. It's progressing quite well, I've got the accent for it.

I just wish Mr. O would take his head out of another of his orifices and realise it's to be in love with me.
This week he started to wave hello to me, then realised he would be showing affection, and stopped himself short at the last second.
I am friends with his cousin, and even she says he must have an awful fight going on inside of himself to react that way. (She says he needs a brain transplant, to get it moved from the lower part of his body to the proper place inside his cranium.)
