Moving Day

Post 1

FarmerKaren-"Save a horse, ride a cowboy!"

Yesterday was moving daysmiley - puff
It went quite wellsmiley - winkeye as far as I am concernedsmiley - ok. The movers were three young guys that worked well together, and were very polite. They did a great job, and didn't break anythingsmiley - magic.
The one thing that got to me was that my boys spent the better part of the day on the internet learning blonde jokessmiley - ermsmiley - steam
It feels so good to be able to smiley - zzz in a bed, rather than on a hard floor.
In the evening I took mu Mum to a Symphony concert for her 69th birthday. It was a great program featuring Mozart, Wagner, and a young (18 years old) Soprano that sang as well as some of the seasoned Sopranos I've heard. My kid's Dad is the Concertmaster here, so he always has complimentary tickets for the Main Series concerts. I'm looking forward to attending as many as I can. Maybe there will be a better class of men to meetsmiley - erm?!
Now it's just a question of getting through all of the boxes and crates and bags of things, so we will be able to move around in here. We've got to do a great deal in the next week, before my surgery on the 24th, so I can at least not fall all over everything when I get home. (Not that I'll be doing any walking, mind, but I'll be able to move around on my bumsmiley - roflsmiley - doh)
Tomorrow I go to the hospital for my pre-op blood tests and x-rays. I think they're doing a cardiogram as well. The smiley - doctorSurgeon has decided that since I was born with only one kidney, and because I am having bone taken from my hip to be used for grafting in my foot, that they will probably keep me in the hospital for a few days instead of only doing the thing as day surgery like they did last time. I also have to go to the Chiropractor on monday to have him readjust the things I put out of place during moving daysmiley - groan
Then on tuesday I must go to the Dentist to have the last of the w*rk done on my teeth before the surgery. I HATE going to the Dentist! I would almost rather break every bone in my body before going to the Dentist!
Then on wednesday I think I have a little break, so I'll be able to get a little bit done around heresmiley - puff.
Thursday will be a big day< as it is payday> i"ll have to get my manicure to have the tiger stripes taken off my nails> he surgery won"t go ahead if the Anesthetist can't see the color of my nail bed. Then I have to go to the Chiropractor again. He wants to make sure I'm well adjusted for optimim healing (It'll take a MIRACLE to make me 'well adjusted'smiley - rofl). I am also taking my Mum and my Daughter Tabby and her son to lunch that day. Then I have to take my smiley - monstersmiley - monstersmiley - monster grocery shopping that evening, and to get them something they can wear for Halloween. They are taking my grandson Trick-or-Treating. Tabby offered to let them do this, as I won't be in any shape to take them around. So, Tabby and her boydriend will come pick up the boys and they will go round in her neighborhood with Darrion. He's 16 months old now, so he 'understands' a lot moresmiley - huh. There is a large picture of Frankenstein on their wall at home, and Darrion points to it and growls, and then walks sort of like a zombie to indicate who it is in the picture. Then he smiley - laugh like crazy, thinking he's made a big joke.
Then sometime on the wekend I'm going back to the community I just came from to pick up some more of the produce I grew in my garden. There is no point letting it go to waste. There is probably about 200 pounds of potatoes to be dug up yet, and some carrots and beets as well.
And during the wek we'll be going through as much of the packed stuff as possible to be able to give things away to anyone who might need something I don't need anymore. DOWNSIZING is supposed to be theraputic, rightsmiley - huh
I really felt bad that I lost all of the kids' school stuff, along with costumes, and hundreds of books, at the farm (the comma lady strikes againsmiley - evilgrin). The landlord let the wild rats and smiley - mousesmiley - esuom get into the storage shed we had theresmiley - grrsmiley - steam Everything was ruinedsmiley - wah It's just good that I managed to salvage pictures.
Well, I had better get on with the day. Time stands still for no one!
smiley - smoochsmiley - love to all.

Whew, you have both my sympathy AND full understanding in this situation....i am in a similar one; surgery, immobility, probably gotta move etc.

Thank goodness you seem to have some folks around to help out with practical stuff.

I know it's almost impossible, but try & prioritise the moving stuff so you don't hurt the foot even more; things can stay in boxes for now, so long as you have the basics out for eating & sleeping & general clothes.

As for dentists; smiley - yuk; can't go, won't go!!! See the Mardy thread for connection between nice asses & teeth!smiley - winkeyeA6009086

One of my favorite quotes is "Bite my big fat butt!", which doesn't bode well for either teeth or butts.smiley - blush
Oh! Maybe you meant asses as in "jerks"?! Well, who would want to have anything to do with a jerk, anyway? Isn't that the whole pointsmiley - huh
Am I even making sense?
I doubt it.
Terri - smiley - love
I would like to be able to help, but as you know, I'm in my own little h#ll. Perhaps when I win the lottery I can come for a visit, and we'll have a great time fixing your difficultysmiley - winkeye
