I've never actually done it, but there was an... incident with a particularly obstreperous customer quite early on my career at Cheapo 
I would go as far as to label it a fracas, but it could easily have gone that way.
As for picking people up and hitting things with them, that just seemed a rather surreal, Pythonesque, Milliganesque, Horne-esque opposite to what you mentioned
