Just got back from three days in Madrid - I can heartily recommend it: the art museums, the parks, the cafe life and the hot chocolate all get the big thumbs-up!
Mind you, I overslept on Thursday morning and missed my flight - and as it was Easyjet, I ended up spending £122 on a single ticket to get me out there... I can't really afford it, and it was a bit daft seeing as the original flight was only £70 return in the first place, but I'd been looking forward to it for weeks, and my girlfriend was already out there.
And I'm really glad I did it, but that's the most expensive night's sleep I've had in my life!
Just a shame I couldn't stay longer - the existing Edited Guide entry could do with a bit of an update, but on just a couple of days experience, it's more than I can really take on.
