Do these things come in threes?
Ming Mang Posted Oct 27, 2002
Another update: apparently the car wasn't found in Brighton so much as stopped in Brighton - the thiefs were still driving it around... They did, however, have the presence of mind to run away when they stopped. Why they stopped I do not know.

So what did the rozzers do? Stand there twiddling their thumbs?
Do these things come in threes?

Ah. Now we've found out. They were stopped outside the house of one of the guys at the rifle club (though why he doesn't go to a Brighton rifle club I've not idea), who works as security at the football stadium farily often. Because of this, he has a baton and a baton licence (they are a class A weapon, apparently), and because it was rather early in the morning that the thiefs started making a racket outside his house, he went out with his baton. The police arrived, and because the guy had his baton, they had to stop and question him about his baton instead of catching the other guys...
