Thanks for dropping in io; glad to see you're still alive and kicking... watching all the lead flying around where you are on the nightly news kinda had me wondering.

No real epiphanies at this end... I've been very very busy with a new job and haven't had a chance to write (or read) much. Since the new job involves reading and sorting broadcast news items for cabinet ministers and corporations, though, in some sense you might say that I've been studying the opposite of "Ultimate Reality" in that I'm handling the manufactured pablum fed to the masses.

I like drawing this correlation... mad cow disease arises in herds that are fed bone meal (their own offspring from a blender, basically). So what happens to the human mind when it consumes the recycled crud of the herd's own baseless, mindless ideologies day after day? CNN = McDonald's for the soul. Mooo.

McDonalds reigns supreme in Israel too, except for this week, when they feature their same delicious, nutritious, enviromentally conscious burgers on matzah-based buns in order to respect Jewish tradition the same way they respect the culture of the native peoples who make their beef.

Did you know there's a Starbucks operating in the Forbidden City?
