The Man On The Flaming Pie Started conversation Jan 21, 2000
Woke up, got out of bed,
Dragged a comb across my head.
Found my way upstairs and drank a cup
And looking up,
I noticed I was late.
Found my coat, and grabbed my hat,
Made the bus in seconds flat.
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke
And somebody spoke
and I went into a dream.

Some kind of happiness is measured out in miles,
What makes you think you're something special when you smile?

I thought he found his way *down*stairs and drank a cup, and looking up, he noticed he was late...

I know... It's the sort of mistake I'd make... You know, knowing the right words, but getting them in the wrong order...

I always remember it because I picture what he's doing. People's kitchens are generally below their bedrooms, or on the same floor, but not above.
unless he sleeps in the basement. . .

I think he knew the song, but probably just put up where meant to put down, etc...
I've written things backwards in posts before, written the words in the wrong places. I do it when I talk a lot too...
