h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Another researcher pointed out that he was tired af reading "no replies." He said he thought maybe he wasn't getting any replies because he wasn't participating in other people's discussions. Getting out there and taking part doesn't garantee reponses either. I'm beginning to suspect that the number of people actually participating in the Guide are few and far between. There are plenty of people writing entries, but the interaction seems to be limited to a few popular discussions. I have been reading a lot of entries and the number of times I've seen the words, "43 weeks ago, no replies" is quite phenomenal. In a club with such limited participation, I think maybe you either hang out with the "in" crowd or nobody at all. It would be too bad if H2G2 turned into a mere clique.

Hello Lute! How nice to meet you!! I'm sorry you're feeling left out!!! I've only had mac for a bit more than three months, so I've
still SOOOO much to learn. And I'm a tad confused about what to write next. Nobody's offering any ideas either...well, duh...I guess they
need the ideas for themselves.
It has been my experience with h2g2 that nearly EVERYONE is nice. And have even been helpful! Do you 'go out' & meet other Hikers?
Look at it this way dear. If you go to a party, and everyone's dancing
and tasting the yummy punch, & enjoying the band (even though they REALLY bite) you're bound to meet people. Have conversation. Some interesting, however, most of the 'chat' you're not gonna' wanna' stick around for. So...you just move along. New friends are like shoes...sometimes you have to try on several before you find the right fit! Please don't give up, or give in...just keep on keepn' on until
you find your place.
There's no reason for you to, but, trust me! There are more people in here than fleas at a camel race!

hello there .....i am sorry as well ....it does seem like the same researchers tend to cruise around together, maybe that is because they feel comfortable or something...i don't know....

Whatever you do...don't be shy! Why not write a post about feeling left out? It could'nt hurt. However, humor seems to work best around these parts! (Some of us are a bit twisted)
Why not go to:Can Something Come From Nothing? They could use some help getting back onto the topic! What's your take on the subject?

anyway, yes pandora, very good advice, write an article for our Post and email it to me at [email protected] will be sure that it is included in the issue that follows your email ...maybe with you writing about this it will help others to realize that they may be inadvertently leaving others out. as i said, sometimes i think that they do not realize they are doing this and possibly by placing your thoughts and feelings in the Post it will show them and changes will begin to be made .....never know until you try

Hey Lute! Now Monsy there is quiet interesting herself!!! My, but what a wise person has taken up your cause!!! And Monsy won't let you off easily either! She's broken up a tussel or two I've gotten into
with the afor mentioned Vegiman...he's my hero! Shhhh! Don't tell anyone! If the news gets back to HIM...well, let's just say, you'll need to enlarge your door frame for him to get his head through! HA!

as for being scared of little ol' me, i'm not much more than fluff and show i don't think i could hurt a flea.....but i am serious about writing something for the Post, i think it is a great idea and would make for an interesting article that would make people stop and think which is what we want them to do when they read the Post
btw pandora, i still have some of that silly string left...i attacked vegiman with it over at his birthday party but he seems not to of noticed .

Wow, it's so cool that you guys wrote in on this! It's a great idea to write something that more people will read! I do like writing social commentary, so I guess this is a good chance, huh? I've been away for a month or so, but I'm kinda getting back into it, so I'll start work.
A few weeks ago I submitted another essay to the offical guide. Frankly, I think what I submitted is boring and pedantic, but I think it's more what they're looking for. We'll see how that one does.
You know what they're missing is the directions on how to use toothpicks.

now that would make for a good entry ....
as for writing about this journal entry, if you would like to do so please do and then email it on to me and i will see that it makes it into the Post i am sure it would be good reading as well

Don't be modest dear, you can actually get things done around here. I,
on the other hand am still struggeling with the best way to turn my computer on & off!
I've been spending so much time at various h2g2 B.D. parties, I've about worn myself out! I have other entries written on, YES, PAPER!!!
But since I 'landed' in h2g2 I have the magical ability to be in MANY places at the same time! WEEEEEE!!! Poor folks in the kitchen...I made such a hog of myself with the B.D. cake...they ended up making an anti-cake for me! Although, before it's over...I have a feeling others will need the potion as well. Gee, I feel like such a bother!
But nobody's complained, YET! EVERYBODY IS SO GOOD TO ME!!! One day I'll write something wonderful...I'm sure of it!
