Not *quite* as scary and creepy as I thought.

I had my first cataract surgery yesterday. The time waiting for the eye-drops to kick in took longer than the surgery. About 15 minutes? And it wasn't as much of a gross-out as I'd thought it would be, either. However, the headache afterwards? Oy! Now all I have to do is not lift anything, or bend over for the next week. Oh fun, experiments in putting on my shoes using my grab-tool...

You'll be excused to wear flip-flops this week, even to social gatherings.

I'm glad to hear it went well. Do you have a shiny new lens in place?

Footgear look of the week -- sandals! Thank BoB it's warm this week.
Prof, you have guessed right! It does have to do with blood pressure, apparently the implant might be displaced, if it spikes. No lifting over 10 lbs, no bending over with my head lower than my heart, and I get to drown my eye with drops four times a day for a month. Oh, and wear an eye shield at night for a week or so. Already, my cat is having none of it...doesn't appreciate the look, it seems!
I'm still legally blind in that eye, but I have a little more color vision back, and some small areas of sharper image and blobs have a little more definition. A week before surgery, I could only read the top line of the chart; the day after surgery, I could read two of the five letters on line three.
