I got asked to house sit for a month for a friend, who's going to China, so I'll be HOME over Christmas! Best present ever.

I'm so happy, I didn't even ask if I'm getting paid! smiley - boing

Thanks, I certainly hope so.

I've been taking that resveratrol for a week now, and it seems to be doing something, may take another week to decide what. smiley - winkeye

Good for you! I am sure you will enjoy the break from up north. smiley - hug

I somehow got unsubscribed from your journal. smiley - sorry I came poking around to see what was up with your lawsuit. I don't recall you mentioning it but recently in the Salon. Not that I am distracted or anything. smiley - weird

I'm appealing the two previous denials of disability benefits, and the county (which is paying me general assistance) *insisted* I fight it. Soooo. It's the waiting -- depending on who I talk to, it's either going to take 4 months (almost up) or a year. If it's a year, I'm just going to go nuts, so I can get a nice warm padded cell...smiley - laugh

I'll be flying out at stupid o'clock in the morning, so I'm having brekky in L.A. tomorrow.

Just checked out the bus map for the address where I'm staying. No good fit, so I'll be dependent on people picking me up to take me to luch, etc. I probably won'b be going out much in any case -- as it turns out, I'm not getting paid. My Christmas pressie is the airfare down there, back up for my appt and back down again. Getting home at the end of January might be a car ride or it might be a bus ride or it might be a train ride. I'll have to see.

I'm happy.

And Pat is very happy! smiley - evilgrin

Will going back to work invalidate your disability claim? I've never been quite sure how it works. I do know everyone is refused on their first application. Which is ridiculous. I know a blind man who was denied on his first application. smiley - cross

So was my husband -- after a stroke which took out 2/3 of the left side of his brain!

If you're on disability, you can earn up to $940 a month, and still be eligible. The trouble is, I've gotten contract jobs which were terminated early, because I couldn't keep up -- which is the definition of being too disabled to work. I think I can do things well enough to hold down at least a part time job. That would work for me. I have to find some solution to either find work I can do, or deal with being "disabled". I clearly can't do any job which requires much walking -- I wouldn't make it across the sales floor of your average WalMart or Costco in under 30 minutes, no joke!

As it turns out, I'm geographically challenged.

I thought M was going to china, but I was Wong...it's Australia.

And I'll be here until at least the 23rd of January.

Dogs are sweet, a Chow-Lab mix with the emphasis on CHOW, a zaftig Chihuahua, and the Cat who rules them all. Haven't met the 2 feral cats and the skunk who live in the garage yet...

Life is Good. smiley - smiley
