h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I've been a Hootoozen for 7 years today! (at least as Spacecadette; I joined a couple of months prior to Nov. 99, but forgot my account info and had to start over! )

Ordinarily, I'd expect the 7-year-itch in this relationship, but I found something out: In all the other blogging sites I've tried, H2G2 is still the best. The level of communication and debate here is far higher in quality than any of the other sites I've tried. It's fun, it's controversial, it's silly -- the best of them.

I originally joined because I got tired of hearing about how the world worked from the myopic viewpoint of the US media. I figured the only way to find out how the world saw the U.S. was to go out and ask. I'm still amazed at how much Americans are NOT told about what happens in the rest of the world. It's appalling and dangerous, when the citizens of the U.S. are so open to manipulation by our media and our government.

Thank you, DNA, for opening up the world for me.

Rocket is all jazzed at our Hootooversary, too -- he sat on the keyboard this morning -- and just happened to mess up the computer, so that it went into "safe mode"...but I'm sure it was due to his excitement, and not that he thinks I'm !

Wow, I've been so distracted lately, I almost missed my own hootooversary!! I'm kinda lost at the moment; most of what I owned is BoB knows where, and I'm stuck in limbo with the laptop which is now my only 'puter. I could get so philosophical about the human obsession with STUFF.
I'm on a borrowed Mac at the moment, and y'know, they're not the same.
