End Of An Era

I've often called myself "The Biggest Fan Of The Dr. Demento Show To Have Never Heard A Single Episode." Well, I can no longer make that claim, I'm afraid. I was just glancing at some stuff online, and noticed that a radio station that I fall just into the listening range of actually does broadcast the Dr. Demento show on Sunday nights.

Now, while I wasn't rolling in the car seat (the only place I found that I could get a clear signal. Surprisingly clear, all things considered), I did enjoy it. The live interview with The Bobs went on for a bit longer than I would like(I like a cappella music, but there's only so much I can take (all worth it for "Giant Robot Store", though)). They were an interesting group with an interesting history, I just wasn't quite in the mood for four of their songs in a row.

I will say, though, that I heard two songs/routines that I absolutely need to find recordings of. "A Very English Thing" by Les Barker, and "Red Light - Green Light" by Engineer Bill. Those were worth staying up until 1 AM on a school night (a school night of a math quiz, no less).

Well, I really should be getting to bed now. But I can't help but feel kind of hollow, now. I've bought so many CDs from this guy, that I was hoping I could go for a lot longer without actually hearing one of his shows. You know, wait until it gets really ludicrous.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
