Not here - but I wouldn´t mind, postman just delivered two more books à 1200-1400 pages. Internet is still on the fritz, so I´ll get a lot of reading done. How you, apart from wet?

Superfrenchie Posted Sep 1, 2009
I'm not really wet, I have a home.
I'm fine, though, it's just a little depressing to have to turn on the lights...
I've taken up knitting again.

"it's just a little depressing to have to turn on the lights... "
As if I didn´t know that feeling! Ground floor, very narrow street - reading with lights on from 5pm, even in summer.
KNITTING? Either you have a taste in clothing that is too exquisite for the shops to take care for, or you are really desparately bored! Have a or three.

Love, when I feel like doing something (and can find the money to buy material) I build loudspeaker boxes. It´s a very manly thing, i.e. the tools are a lot louder and the whole house stinks of glue, sawdust and paint.

yellow and purple => Harry Potter? Comparing my next project to a scarf hits it, though, at least as to the measures - 30cm wide, 185cm high.

Harry Potter, and the fact that the wool was very cheap, but not many colours available
you still didn't say if it was as pretty...

Pretty? Well, as to the scarf I have no doubts, dearest Hermione - the boxes, though...

Mind you, I won´t paint them black. Side panels in battleship grey (like my face in the morning), all the rest just clear lacquer on the natural birch plywood. And THAT is the problem. There´s a lot of BBP (Baltic Birch Ply), at ~€50/m^2. Look here.

OK, so I got the drivers (louspeakers) for a song and a dance. Hobby buddy Franz offered me a very good price, including p&p - and only at the post office did he realize that Germany is part of the EU and his Switzerland isn´t.

So I´m clever, yes? "Ein mörderischer Sommer" on German TV, but I missed to tape it. OK, no problem, search the ´net. "L´Été meurtrié"...not a problem to find and download, but I found that French gets a bit rusty when not used for ~30 years. Barbe alors. for you, for me.

>>french gets a bit rusty when not used for 30 years<<
*frown* are you comparing my mothes language with some kitchen equipment?!
only 10 years since i last practised german, and i wouldn't say it's rusty: it's just completely fallen apart.
Truce - we´re even?
Pit - ( Carpe Diem - Stay in Bed ) Posted Sep 3, 2009
>>it´s just completely fallen apart.<<
Aha. You compare my mother language with most of my motorbikes.
- you´re right.
OK, I won't launch the missiles.
Pit - ( Carpe Diem - Stay in Bed ) Posted Sep 4, 2009
Love, I was crying about my mother language. Some years ago the powers-that-be decided on a spelling reform - boyoboy, I´d laugh my head off had it happened in a third world country.
OK, I won't launch the missiles.
Pit - ( Carpe Diem - Stay in Bed ) Posted Sep 4, 2009
about bikes, too - haven´t ridden for years, and hope I won´t for a long time to come. I have promised my Mami that I´ll keep off it as long as she lives.
OK, I won't launch the missiles.

>German felt weirdly written before, and it feels even weirder now! <
Love - to that! The problem is, our parliament has about six times as many civil servants as members than the RL populace. That in itself would still be bearable, but they are GERMAN civil servants - !
Those stupid bodfghdrt mdfkhtoip don´t believe anyone but them can think, so everything must be regulated. Other peoples are allowed common sense, we get §§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§.
