tut, tut, tut. PAC what are we going to do with you. Japanese Bikes are the best in the world... Well specificaly Honda's are the best in the world and not just because Mikabomb sang a song about them. However they are closely followed by Kawasakis, Yamahas and and Suzukis. Indians are rather spiffy too and HDs are the worst bike ever... as compared to the Honda Valkyrie Rune which is very probably the best bike in existance today.

Kymco do some nice learner/pre derestricted licence bikes too. There's the Hipster which is a cruiser in the style of the Honda Valkyrie Rune, which has a really neat feature where the pillion seat flips up to make a back rest for the rider. They also do a 200cc one... a Venox I think it's called, but I don't think the pillion seat flips up on that one.

who needs speed, Brit bikes were built to last
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=triumph+bonneville&spell=1
they were the world beater,in their day. No one will risk money to make a Brit bike now...cowards!!

Who said anything about speed? The Honda Shadows and Valkyries are cruisers, built for comfort, not speed. and if you want a bike that'll last then you want a japanese motor, they're the most reliable in the world and they just keep on going.

I will not knock Japanese bikes, they have the world market, its just that 40 odd year ago, we had great british bikes, but as everything over here, all are scared to invest in anything, so the industry went down

Hey Proff.....I wouldn't bother with a putt putt either.
They sound like annoying little mosquitoes and they don't
go fast enough.
And moonraker I have a 600 Bandit too...she's like a bat out of hell.
You twist the throttle and hold on tight...Great fun to ride!!

Over here all your 600s are only bored to 400 because of the license system
I think my best bike was the vfr 750 but as Im getting older my sprint is more comfortable to sit on
I like distance riding ie been up to hokidoe 4 times 10 day touring with tents doing about 5000 k each time
even went to hiroshima for new year on a loner bike from the shop waiting for my sprint to be delivered

My wife used to ride a fzr 400 but she gave it to her nephew
When I was racing we usedvincent 1000cc engines for national races and triumph for international because of the size restrictions we couldnt use the big engine .
believe you me I also like speed and laying flat with that big old engine thumping next to your ear smelling the R going away from the start line.Nothing else like it

The racing sounds very impressive...but I don't have the guts to
do anything like that
Well if my nephew came to me for a bike...I'd tell him to
get saving. I won't even share with my husband
Well I'm looking forward to next month, because I'm going to the
Thundersprint for the first time and it's free to go
