Axl Rose and Sport
Posted Nov 7, 1999
It is possible to deduce the sport of which Axl Rose sings by the application of some simple but subtle logic.
In "November Rain", Rose sings:
"Nothing lasts forever, even cold November rain".
However, in "Think about you", he sings:
"the love we shared, loving that'd last forever".
If nothing lasts forever, and there exists love that lasts forever, then it follows that love is nothing.
And, as we all know, love is nothing in the game of tennis.

Fine toothcomb
Posted Nov 7, 1999
These days, when something needs to be scrutinised carefully people use a fine toothcomb.
I'm very interested to know what a toothcomb is, and where I can obtain a particularly fine example of this instrument.
In the past, people used to use a fine-toothed comb. When did they stop using this device (which seemed perfectly suited to the task) in favour of the modern gadget?
