Basic Structural Geology Survival guide
So, you've decided to take structure. Or maybe you didn't. Who decides to take structure anyway? The point is, you gotta go to class, but you have no clue what the Professorr is talking about. This is ok, don't be afraid, because no one knows what the teacher is talking about untill the last week of class when it all comes together. So hang in there, becuase for the next semester Sigma one is pointing in your direction.
Can't understand a problem and need help, don't hesitate to get help from the Professor. Before you do, remember some simple rules. First of all, before you even go for help, write some equasions down, and some picutres that have to do with the problem, Professors love this. Second, when you go in to see your Prof., act like you know something, even if you don't, becuase Structure Profs don't give something for nothing. When he does proceed in helping, smile, and nod frequently as he draws picutres in your note book. And finally, don't expect to understand the problem right away, it might take a few visits. Keep repeating these steps until the Prof. just gives you the answer just to avoid dealing with you.
