Journal Entries

A New Experience

This is my first piece of work to be published in the web. I thank all those involved in h2g2 for giving me such an easy way to express myself. (Hope this improves my chances of getting stuff approved)

I found this site a few days ago and have visited often before finally plucking up the courage to register. Being a student at university, I have easy access to the internet and in my random searching I was reminded of the wonderful set of books by Douglas Adams upon which this site is based. 'Aha!' thought I, 'What an ingenious way of wasting the time that I should be spending doing work or attending lectures.' As a result, my habit has grown and I am now writing journal entries whilst struggling to think of an appropriate topic to write about.

As a first year student living on university grounds, my days are empty (sorry, lecture filled) though nights have a habit of being rather busy. With my new home a mere stumble from everything important on site (ie student bar, library, student bar, lecture theatres, student bar, sports hall, student bar, nightclub, and the student bar) I have many hours in which other people would spend travelling to and from the university during which I may indulge in my information habit.

I feel rather inadequate (which is why I am maintaining anonymity) after reading many of the often hilarious entries and search every crevice of my consciousness to find something worth writing about. Failing that I'll just pick something silly to say and hope it gets a mention. Time to logoff and draft a few ideas.
