Greetings, Neighbour,
Just a flying visit to admire your handiwork. It is so admired that I should like to call again.

Hi Granny,
Preety much recovered. Have you seen the various pictures flying around? Phil's got some, Clive's got some, there's mine (and I've only put about half of those so far). Between them they give a clear impression of a good time being had by all. Anybody beaten our quiz scores yet?

Hi MC, *waves to Pumbaa*, yes I've seen the pictures, yours are great, ie non of yours truly have you seen Croz's yet, he had them up within hours & then when I complimented him on Sunday, had completely forgotten he'd done it.
I think he had a good night! Are you going over to the Radish? I won't be going, prior engagement, , September & October are both very busy months for me, Grandad & I will be starting rehearsals, and then we're on a freebie weekend away in October, plus there's a christening, busy busy busy!

Don't worry about response times here Pumbaa, it's perfectly OK for conversations to take days
As it happens Granny, I do have at least one of you in the batch I haven't scanned yet. What am I bid...? Oh never mind, that wasn't very successful the last time it was tried.
I'm not sure about the radish, I've been out and about quite a bit lately. Mind you I like Leeds, it's not all that far and I have a few other friends there it might be an excuse to go and see. We'll see.
Another christening = a granny all over again? Rehearsals for what by the way?

Not a granny again yet, the youngest is being done late. But watch this space, my elder son & fiancee are working on it & I hope to have some good news around Christmas time! It's going to be an assisted one tho', and the rehearsals are for the act we're going to be taking round the pubs, me, him on guitar & backing tapes, we're fed up with tempermental drummers & bass players so have decided to go it alone for a while.

Hello.
Just rummaging around. I read two or three people's
spaces a day. I don't know how I got here, I just did...
Bossel says I'm in training to be a scout.
I say this is all I can do because I'm otherwise computer illiterate.

Oh, and I have Finnegan's Wake, the audio book. It's published by Naxos! Have fun! I've been trying to read that damn thing since 1981.

Well Hello there Mr Revenge
Thanks for saying hi. Hope you enjoyed your visit. And thanks for the encouragement on Finnegans Wake. I have a lovely looking paperback copy with a blue-grey dust cover. Inside there are lots of words - but I can't get past the first paragraph however often I try I love the idea, I admire the literary nerve but I just cannot read the thing. Maybe I'll pick it up again later tonight and see how far I get.
Cheers
PS BTW there's definitely no apostrophe in the title - I remember reading a critic say that was a deliberate choice of Joyce's to make the title ambiguous. See, it could refer either to having a wake for some Finnegans or to disturbing a load of Finnegans from their nocturnal rest. Frankly this all sounds a bit far-fetched to me.
