Hey Awix,

I miss your 24 lies a second, ever since I made you the banner graphic I've followed the piece but it's been quite some time since your last one and I don't blame you for not publishing in the post.

Although I'm surprised you didn't make a go of getting published elsewhere. Your wit and eloquence are sorely missed in most film reviews and it'd be just as nice if you reviewed the dvd you borrowed one night when you were bored.

Oh and are you still in Japan? I take it the med thing didn't work out?

I am in Italy, thanks for asking. Not sure what the med thing you refer to is but I have been working fairly happily as an English language teacher since the summer of 2006.

I sort of regret knocking 24LAS on the head but word-processing in Japan was a nightmare (all their machines default to kanji), and here in Italy I have virtually no net access (not to mention all the films are dubbed into Italian). Also the Post readership seemed to plummet after the decision to go bi-weekly was taken by some idiot (hang on, that was me, during my catastrophic tenure as editor) which made it a bit less fun.

I am still writing stories and poetry (capsule reviews on Facebook too) and had been thinking about submitting some to the Post. Expecting to get paid for any of it has always seemed a bit over-optimistic to be honest, but cheers for the vote of confidence!

Thanks for bothering to write (what does Endos Pheredin mean anyway? Me am fick).

>> Not sure what the med thing you refer to is

Med is short for Mediterranean, I figured I wouldn't have to spell it that way and cause myself the embarrassment.

You know if the computers in Japan were that bad why didn't you take an ubuntu live CD around with you and use that instead of the windows'y crap they were probably using? It's still an idea come to mention it to keep all your writings and such on a usb pen drive.

>> what does Endos Pheredin mean anyway

You may be a master of English, but I sir am a master of Gibberish. I got a BS in it. smiley - winkeye

>> but cheers for the vote of confidence!

Hey it was a great thing you had going, and if you ever want to do some kind of blog based do it as you feel like it website I'd be up for helping you set it up. (since I still have copyright on the banner I can still use it elsewhere) I mean managing articals with youtube clips and photo's and such isn't hard for the modern web programmer tbh.

Thanks. If I ever get more regular and reliable web access I will definitely think about taking you up on it.

I am not really that hardware-literate. Or software-literate come to that. I'm like one of those people whose a fairly competent driver but has little idea how the engine actually works...

I can't see how it would require you to know anything about websites, A white box which sucks in words is all that is required right?

Well, I had a go last night with the hoover and my scrabble set but no joy so far. I think some kind of technical ability remains a prerequisite...

No, no, no; firstly the abilities should not extend much beyond what is required to post a reply in h2g2. You have a white box, you type in words and press the big Publish button. Maybe there would be a couple of extra fields to specify your rating, who it's publish by a link to imdb etc etc.

I hope you got your scrabble tiles back.
