That'd better be a &%$%&'!) joke!
I dunno. I heard Jason Statham wanted to do it, which would be... interesting.
I wanted Bill Nighy or David Warner back when they were initially casting but apparently Rusty has a no over-45s rule.
Obviously I don't know who's popular on TV in the UK about that age at the moment. Seem to recall most people were just handsome and bland rather than actually interesting.
Maybe Richard Coyle, but that's a bit obvious. And he lives in the US now, apparently. Ooh, Adrian Lester! He'd be interesting.

Peter Serafinowiz (bloke out of Spaced & Shaun of the Dead, did the voice for Darth Maul) would be a good choice I reckon. Never been a fan of Bill Nighy though.

Mmmm. Could see Peter Serafinowicz being quite good, though (Darth Maul aside) he's a bit too light-entertainmenty for my comfort. Be nice if they broke the mould and went for a complete change next time round though...

Wonder why Doctor Who was disqualified?

Hmm, so Red Dwarf is more popular than every other programme (apart from programmes that were disqualified on the grounds of them being popular).
So it's the most popular not-especially-popular SF TV show!
You must be so proud...

This is the best you have to offer? Oh dear...
Psyc, if you want to go back on-topic feel free, otherwise wake me when Tokyo falls into the sea...

Wouldn't that wake you up anyway?

Wouldn't want to take any chances. We apparently had a 6.8 magnitude earthquake last week which I didn't notice at the time...

Not at all, I think I must have been working...
BTW - you will doubtless be rather too pleased to hear I met a Japanese woman recently who has the complete set of a certain BBC sitcom (noted for the over-eagerness of its fans when it comes to dodgy popularity polls) on DVD. I was very surprised, I don't think it's ever been shown over here on TV.

It has, the Japanese version of The End (ReMASTERed) was an extra on the Series I DVD.

Wakarimashita.
For some reason I've met many Japanese women who are into UK comedy, I have no idea why or how common this is...

Naruhodo. Didn't Michael Palin meet a female Pythonist there on his Full Circle trip? And that was 1997. There must a site for looking up this kind of thing.

Wouldn't catch me looking online for what Japanese people are "into"...

Same kinds of thing as everyone else, but in slightly different proportions. The important word is 'people', not 'Japanese'...
