Have just read your article in this weeks post and from there found homepage. Why am I explaining this? you know how it works...derrr.
Love your style of writing and delicate touches, Don't care about the films, but found the bits in between delicious. Also compulsive and witty advice on home page. Will now spend the rest of the morning working out how best to come out of my personal 'larger on the inside' closet mmmm difficult when you're old! There I did it! Don't spread the word but I am old.
Please keep writing. I was about to give up on the site (due to age and personal debate over bbc copyright issue)..but hey! I'm OLD so what the heck!

Wow. Thanks very much indeed. No fear of me giving up writing, my therapist says it's very good for me (not sure what effect it has on other people though).
There's a huge amount of old material scattered across H2G2, some of it better than others. (Shameless plug.)
Oh, and seek professional help as soon as you can!

In between your day job, All those h2g2 articles, and the films you've seen, do you have time to have a life? Or are you actually very old indeed!
Take care

Well, there's a forthright question!
To which the answer is: kinda. Not as much as some people, I suspect, but it seems to be improving (fingers crossed). The fact that I am fairly ancient by Hootoo standards (though not as ancient as Shazz, obviously) may have a bearing on this.
When you remember that the articles were written over a period of nearly 18 months the accumulated total becomes *slightly* less impressive (especially considering I only have about eight jokes which get endlessly reused).
But thanks for your interest, anyone who gives me the chance to talk about myself is okay by me!

95 submissions in 18 months is positively heroic. Do you also submit to local rags/magazines etc? Dare I even suggest liquid news?
You should. You might be able to give up the day job and get paid to play! Good luck
Take care
Boots.
ps I hope shazz is really old!

I wouldn't presume to venture a guess on the 'age of Shazz' question, for one thing I'm not exactly qualified and for another she's been known to lurk in threads like this...
95!?! Are you sure it's that many, just for the Post? It can't be! I've written other non-Post stuff over the time I've been here (joined late 99, but didn't regularly contribute till summer before last).
Oh, it might be 95 if you count each review individually. The record for a single week is 4, but that was due to exceptional circumstances...
Thank you so much for suggesting my stuff is worthy of professional publication. Unfortunately I wouldn't know where to begin trying! A friend of mine had a 45-second comedy sketch broadcast on Radio 4 nearly 10 years ago but that's as close as I've come. Cheers anyway, though!

Oh go on give it a try. I have a 'positively splendid' rejection slip collage. The writers and artists handbook is a wieghty but worthy tome, and I'm sure your local rag would appreciate come copy. Trust me the few hacks I know on our local paper would far rather be propping up the bar than writing their weekly review... you may not get full creit but it's a start...think global act local.
Take care
