Oh, I've been about - then again I've been terribly busy as I've somehow wound up writing two regular bits for the Post, not to mention a special anniversary piece that needed to be in two weeks early...

So all is well. Real life is chaos, as usual, but it's better that than dull. Online activities are fine - my game against Trapman is on a knife-edge, I think, it should resolve itself pretty soon one way or the other. So I'm pleasantly busy busy busy. How's things with you?

Heh heh.. My chess game?--hasn't been replied to for weeks.. So I don't know what's happened to WebSherpa...

What's your Post stuff on then? (yeah, I know, I could just go look... but it gives me an excuse to talk with you ) Hrm... On hootoo I haven't been doing much lately... I've sent four entries through PR, but none has made a FrontPage debut yet... That's nice. I've been doing a lot of work here. And reggabwoW... But nothing really that new...

Oh, well, one of the Post things is my regular movie-related column, but - fairly unexpectedly - I posted the first part of a small memoir of something I did in the summer of 1995, and that got (head swells) a startlingly positive response. I was going to do it bi-weekly but everyone insisted it go to a weekly schedule. Which was very flattering, but it all went a bit quiet from week two onwards so maybe I haven't managed to keep the quality up...

Haven't had time to do any new serious entries lately... but definitely on the 'wouldn't it be nice if...'

Trapman seems to have fallen into one of my traps so I could be free for a game quite soon (although given Trapman can be up to a fortnight between moves, maybe not). Fancy a rematch?

A rematch? Uh oh... You beat me last time; I think you'll beat me this time too... But it would be nice to do another game.

I read the Black Hawk Down 24LS last night--pretty interesting. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I've heard some stuff from a lot of people concerning the Somali reaction to it-- They weren't very happy... I can see why, I guess, what with this being the "let's pump up our American egos" times...

They forced you to weekly?--don't let anyone make you do something you don't want to, especially because now it seems like they aren't as enamoured... What weeks did that stuff come out?

The last three weeks; episode three is in the same issue as the piece on BHD. Wasn't aware of a Somali backlash to it - given there's only about three Somali characters in it with dialogue, I'm a little surprised... Hmmm... (Next week's 24LAS is a special piece about the Hitch-Hiker movie; I'm a bit nervous about it.)

I think I'll stick with the weekly schedule for now, or else the thing's going to run on into the summer. Helps to stay in a routine, too.

You're sure you don't want a rematch? Shame; I enjoyed playing you (and not for the obvious reason either). Go on, I'll give you take-backs and everything...

I think there was a comment along the lines of "if they kill one of our men, we'll blast them all dead"... Typical American arrogance, amoung other things...

See, my problem was that I would choose a move before you made yours... And you would see what I was going to do, and maybe push a pawn or something... So when I moved my queen, bye-bye she went.... So then I get the honor of playing Awix's next game? (What's your record?-- 2 to 0?)

Well, that's Trapman taken care of, erm, a less challenging game than my last against you (no offence, Trappy, if you're lurking), so if you'd be good enough to take me on once more...

I'm giving the serial a break this week as I just don't have the time to type it up (also we'll see what kind of response its non-appearance provokes, heh heh).
