You Are Loved, Awix!

The Willem Love Collective

Hello Awix! Even though you (in an odd manner) asked for this, I hope it still has the meaning that it would if you weren't expecting it. Awix, you are loved. Nothing you do and nothing anyone else can do will ever take that away. People care about you for all sorts of odd reasons, things you probably wouldn't even think about normally. Like that chess game. (...) I would have never known you if it weren't for that game (I don't go to the theatre, ever, so unfortunately I've never even seen 24LAS before rummaging about on your page today), anyways, what I was saying: I wouldn't have known you if it weren't for that game, but I am glad I've met you. You are a really good chess player, and your Post articles (and Guide Entries) are well-written and understandable--people like you are the contributors to the small side of h2g2: not posting everywhere, but making intelligent posts where you do go. (Oh my, that could be taken the wrong way by a few of our prolific posters... I didn't mean that the way it came out! smiley - cheerup)

Entries on the Day of the Triffids... You've written things for the Guide like that that really contribute to the original Guide concept... It is the people like you here who really give h2g2 its life!

We love you! Tons of people on h2g2 love and care for you, as do your RL family and friends--you matter both to them and to the world at large. You can make a difference. You have power. You are loved.

Thank you for being here. I am always listening, should you ever want to talk, as are the rest of your friends.

Awix--smiley - rosesmiley - peacedovesmiley - hug--all for you!

Thank you. Not being especially blessed with family or RL friends this means more to me than I can easily put into words. This time I seem to have returned to h2g2 to stay, and I'm gladder and gladder I did.

(Did I really ask for this? Didn't mean to... probably put 'is' instead of 'isn't' or something like that...)

And you have more RL friends than you realise: everyone does. Just wait; they'll come out of the woodwork, and then you'll have a *gigantic* Awix fanclub! smiley - biggrin

Oh, not too bad: everything is pretty much fine, or as fine as it's been possible to get over the past few years. That said, I have ten days off work coming up which I'm hugely looking forward to, as the guy I'm forced to share a workspace with is rapidly driving me mad... But on the whole, no complaints, thankyou for asking... smiley - smiley

Well, good then! Ten days off work - wow! I'm currently having a week off work ... not too bad. Will be hard to get back into the swing of things next week.

Anyways, I'm currently reading the whole archive of your movie reviews! Interesting stuff. I've been not watching many movies lately ... too many other things. What I rather hate is that our local theatre does not easily show films such as 'A Beautiful Mind' or other 'serious' films ... it's usually mainly action stuff which I can hardly stand, or comedies clearly targeted towards American kids. I wish I had money, then I could buy me some DVD's ...

Good grief - don't come crying to me if reading the whole lot does irreversible damage.

Hereabouts we have two multiplexes within fairly easy travelling distance, both of which tend towards the blockbuster end of the market, although you can catch most 'quality' films like Gosford Park if you're careful (that's not a terribly good example, as Gosford Park's turned out to be much-deserved smash-hit around here). I'm a bit spoiled in that I spent five years living in a city which had two multiplexes, a miniplex which specialised in older commercial movies, and a full-on arthouse cinema.

A DVD machine is tempting but it's the money - as well as the fact I have about 200 VHS tapes, so I've a bit invested in the medium. Still, one day...

I do have a DVD player here on my computer. I just don't have any DVD's to play on it! I mainly use it for playing music CD's!

I don't think I'm actually gonna make it through the whole archive. I have some other online stuff to do as well. Still, I've alread read some of your reviews that make me wanna watch the movies they're about.

Over here I'm guessing they won't even show a quality film if it *was* a box-office smash ... except during the annual week-long Book and Film Festival. Then they suddenly show all of the 'quality' movies of the past year all at once, plus a few older ones.
