"Natives: Race and Class in the Ruins of Empire" - Akala

This is an excellent book (which I picked up on the back of the podcast with James O'Brien which I also recommend) which very forensically dissects the elements of history and policy that have lead to the Windrush scandal and so many more similar.

If I had the money I'd buy a copy for every school library in Britain.

"Istanbul: A Tale of Three Cities" - Bettany Hughes

A thoroughly entertaining yet at the same time detailed and comprehensive book spanning the entire history of this fascinating city.

Since you have inherited the genes that believe in keeping books after you have read them, a visit to your ever-expanding library provides yet another reason for coming to Dublin.

Good plan - plus I'm going to just send people books in the post... seems like it would be a nice thing to receive.
