It is amazing how quickly the mind goes from "what shall I wear today" to "Do I have any more jumpers that I can fit over this one" when winter comes.

That's why they invented down jackets. you can keep wearing a T-shirt underneath (unless it gets really cold and you need one sweater).

Or a sheepskin jacket - oddly the sheep themselves appear to wear them inside out.

That could be because on a sheep it is still growing. You wouldn't want to get suffocated by your own coat. (plus: shearing is much easier with the wool on the outside)
Maybe the other reason is that people wearing a sheepskin jacket want the advantages of the sheepskin without actually looking like a sheep.
