"On 17th August 1962, at an undisclosed RAF base somewhere in England, two retrorockets on a Thor missile suddenly fired while it was undergoing a routine check. The launch pad was evacuated and, when workers returned they very fortunately found that the nose cone had not become dislodged. The warhead on that missile was 60 times more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb." - I'm guessing the current tenants of that airfield are there due to a comic misunderstanding of the phrase "Duck and cover"?
