G'day Duncan, I have just received your yarn on the above-mentioned pub to sub.
You mention it is Dublin's smallest pub - is it also Ireland's smallest one?
I am also subbing your yarn about The Merrion Inn. Both were submitted last year. They must have got lost in the system somehow. Are the pertinent facts still up-to-date?

Right - it is the Republic of Ireland's smallest _real_ pub, but you can find the odd skibereeen that is smaller, though you really shouldn't....they being illegal.
The two pub entries were part of my contribution to the "St. Patricks day" pubcrawl article which was accepted. However, the pub links were 'lost' because they hadn't been approved so I had to resubmit them....they have, however, been queued legitimately since the end of March. Also there should be an entry on "Messrs. Maguires" which should be considered part of this set around somewhere.
Craic literally means chat, storytelling or talk....so the original use was to say a place was "good for the craic". Somehow this got shortened so now craic is accepted to mean a buzzing place.
Right - I'm off to look for the links.

OK the links are:
http://www.h2g2.com/A274213 for the virtual pub crawl which was included in the "official" St. Patricks day article.
http://www.h2g2.com/A118513 for another great Dublin pub, the Messrs. Maguire which was written by a researcher called Nightfever and which hasn't, unfortunately, been submitted for approval.
